We started sharing everything with each other and became the indispensable part of each other’s life. We were not ready to be separated for any reason whatsoever. So when it came about the college, we decided if not the same college than at least the same city. The college went well and we had our fair share of fun. It wasn’t like we were overstepping in each other’s life. We always respected each other’s privacy and gave them the needed space. It was just that we never felt apart from each other, no matter what. So during the college, she met the man of her dreams and the two of them really hit it off.

Both the families accepted their relationship and they decided to get married. So this weekend was finally the day when she would be married to the love of her life and our pact of being always together will finally be over. We won’t stop being a part of each other’s life but we both have accepted the fact that it can not be the same like before. We were happy and sad at the same time. On 0ne hand she was ready to move into the next phase of her life, on the other she wouldn’t be having me with her constantly on her side there. We weren’t breaking up from being best friends, it was just that I cannot take a big hare of her life now.

Everything was well planned and managed. The venue and the food were amazing and everything went very well. The wedding was grandiose and lavish, the kind she always wanted. She is a bit of a fantasy queen. Then came the time of her departure.  She was going to leave in her husband’s car when I gave her a little gift and asked her not to open it now. An hour later, she called me and started sobbing. She told me that she will miss me very dearly and that is the best present she has ever got in her life. I got her a little gold bracelet with her name on it, written as the human heartbeat and a gold pendant with our pictures inside it.
